MERZOUGA FES & OUZOUD. 6DAYS/5NIGHTS FROM MARRAKECH

Day 1: Marrakech – Tadart-Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou -Skoura- Dades Valley.

Pickup from Marrakech at 7:00 am. We will drive for approximately 2 hours through the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi 'n Tichka pass, stopping for photos along the way, and stopping to have breakfast. We will stop to visit the town of Telouet and its ancient 17th century kasbah.
Then, we will drive in the direction of Ourzazate where we will visit the UNESCO protected Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. We will have lunch here and then visit the Atlas Film Studios. Afterwards, we will drive to Skoura, a town that overlooks many other beautiful kasbahs, in the direction of Dades Valley. The night will be spent at a hotel in Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todhra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga – Camel Trek – Desert Camp.

After the breakfast, we will drive to Todgha city to explore Todra Gorge, and then go to Tinjdad village where we will stop for lunch.
After lunch, we will pass through the towns of Arfoud and Rissani In the direction of Merzouga, home of Erg Chebbi, the tallest sand dunes in Morocco. We will arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon/early evening, where you will have some time to relax by the swimming pool and have berber tea. Around 5:30pm, we will ride the camels from the hotel for about one hour and a half through the desert dunes. We will arrive at the berber tents, have some time to relax, drink berber tea with nomads at the camp, and go over to the dunes to watch the sunset. Dinner will be at the camp, followed by music around the campfire. Overnight in the berber tent.

Day 3: Camel trek- Merzouga Village- Ziz Valley- Medilt- Ifrane- Fes.

Before sunrise, our camel warden will wake you to ascend the dunes and find the sun emerge above the horizon. During the winter season when the days are short, we will start the camel trek and on route pause to meet the sunrise. Arriving at the hotel we will be able to have showers and breakfast, before continuing our journey to Fez.
We leave Merzouga en route to Fez, passing through many places: Arfoud, Errachidia, Ziz Valley, Medilt, Cedar Forests of Azrou, Ifrane and Fez. On a good day you might be able to catch a glimpse of the monkeys that live in the forests. We will stop for lunch along the way in one of the many restaurants. Our guide will make sure you reach your chosen Riad or Hotel. Here we will leave at your Riad or Hotel at the end of the 3 days tour. Day 4: Fes sightseeing.

After breakfast you'll have a whole day to discover the intellectual and consecrated city of the kingdom with a local guide. There are many monuments you will be able to visit: Madrasahs (Koranic schools), Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin, Fez El-Jedid and the Karaouine Mosque (first university in the world) the tanneries, clay workshops, artisan quarters, and souks of largest and oldest medina in Morocco. Overnight in Fes.

Day 5: Fes - Meknes - Volubilis - Ouzoud.

We will leave from Fes at 8h30 a.m. Then drive to Meknes to explore Roman city (Volubilis). Once in the region, we’ll be able to explore the Roman Ruins and the sacred town of Moulay Idriss. A walk around the impressive Roman city site, then you will have some time to see where Morocco’s first Arab conquerors settled, in the small, sacred town of Moulay Idriss. Then off to Meknes where you can explore an afternoon some of this Imperial city’s sights. We will then take the road in direction to Marrakech through the Middle Atlas and as the way is long, we will stop at Ouzoud city to spend the night. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Ouzoud waterfall - Marrakech.

This morning will start with the visit of the amazing Ouzoud waterfall, you will first see it from the top and then get down to have lunch near to the water. We will then go back to Marrakech, with a stop to explore Imi'n Ifri. And we will be back in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
